By creating an account or using BudgetSimpler ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users of BudgetSimpler.
BudgetSimpler is a personal finance tracking application. You can record income, expenses, budget goals, recurring bills, and debts manually, and you can optionally connect a bank account to import transactions automatically (see Section 7). The Service also includes an AI-powered chat assistant to help you understand your financial data.
BudgetSimpler is a tool to help you organize your finances. It is not a financial advisor, bank, or licensed financial institution. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice.
To use BudgetSimpler, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
You agree to use BudgetSimpler only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
You retain full ownership of all financial data you enter into or import through BudgetSimpler. We do not claim any ownership over your data. You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter.
You can export your data at any time in CSV, Excel, PDF, or JSON format from the Settings page; export is part of the free tier. You can delete your account directly from the Settings page, or by contacting support@budgetsimpler.com; see Section 12 for what happens when you do.
BudgetSimpler includes an AI-powered chat assistant. By using this feature, you acknowledge that:
Bank sync is an optional feature that imports transactions from a connected bank account. It is powered by Plaid. Your bank login happens with Plaid or your bank directly; BudgetSimpler never receives or stores your bank username or password. You can disconnect a bank at any time from the Settings page, which revokes BudgetSimpler's access at Plaid. Disconnecting stops future imports; transactions you already imported remain in your account.
Bank sync depends on Plaid and on your financial institution, and interruptions can occur that are outside our control. We do not guarantee that any particular institution is or will remain supported.
Bank sync is a paid add-on priced at $7 per month or $59 per year. Everything else in BudgetSimpler is free: manual entry, budgets, recurring bills, debt tracking, the calendar, search, the AI assistant, and data export.
Some accounts have bank sync included at no charge, either because they connected a bank before bank sync became a paid feature or because access was granted individually. For these accounts, bank sync stays free for as long as the account exists. There is no card on file and nothing to cancel. Included access is tied to the account, is not transferable, and ends when the account is deleted.
BudgetSimpler is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:
We strongly recommend maintaining your own backups of important financial data using the export feature (CSV, Excel, PDF, or JSON).
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Airix Web Designs and BudgetSimpler shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $0 if you have not paid us anything.
Nothing in this section limits or replaces the 30-day money-back guarantee in Section 8. That guarantee is a voluntary refund commitment, not a measure of liability.
You can delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Deletion takes effect immediately for access, and your data is permanently removed after a 30-day grace period. During those 30 days you can recover the account by emailing support@budgetsimpler.com. Deleting your account also disconnects any bank connections and stops any active subscription from renewing.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we believe you have violated these Terms of Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Each version carries its date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email before or when the changes take effect. Continued use of BudgetSimpler after the updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
